This is definitely one of those new emerging trends that caught me by surprise! Just when I thought we couldn’t have any more variations of mid-century modern decor, this trend paired with 80’s ephemera catches me off guard.

Retro style decorating is about combining a variety of shapes, textures, and colors to create a look that’s as unique as the era that influenced it. Retro furniture is sturdy, durable, and completely usable. Everything is useful and functional. Creating a workable retro style decor requires attention to every detail.

Retro Deco style is a style that is consciously derivative or imitative of trends, modes, fashions, or attitudes of the recent past. It generally implies a vintage of at least fifteen to twenty years or more! Retro style is generally an outdated style or fashion that has become fashionable again.

Although this new trend is actually quite old, it’s one I am watching closely and can’t wait to share more! I wouldn’t be surprised to see some Memphis design influence creep in, so I will keep you posted! It’s always fun to study a trend that is still being defined!
