From earthenware to stoneware, earthy and organic is all the rage right now. Slight distressing, unique patinas and bright pops of color are all emerging in the marketplace. Neutral and organic colors including pinks, greens, and blues have become very popular this year.

Stoneware is non-porous ceramic dinnerware made from stoneware clay. It is fired at a temperature between 2150 and 2330 degrees Fahrenheit. It is thicker than other dinnerware. Ceramicware is the earthenware made of porous clay fired at low heat between 1,832 to 2,102 degrees.

Ceramics are more and more seen as an art piece in the home. Unique pieces are quickly gaining in stature both as an art form and as a good alternative investment for collectors.
