It’s baaaack, and I am so thrilled to be able to go to Las Vegas Market this month. I ALWAYS feel inspired during market. As I work with buyers and product development teams to put together product showcases for the following year, this show is one of my favorites for inspiration. LVM has also done an incredible job this year offering webinars and valuable trend research online for its visitors. In fact, I can always depend on LVM to highlight top market trends for the following year.
As we approach the last quarter for 2021, here’s what the market trends are predicting:
Grand-millenial is still going strong! This modern revival of homey design elements is loved by all ages, especially younger generations that can find vintage pieces at their actual grandams house!
Wallpaper has been on the rise, but peel-and-stick options give consumers an affordable and less-permanent solution to accent walls. I just installed some myself in my laundry room this year!
Rustic everything. Don’t be afraid of the word rustic – it’s far less distressing than the country styles of years past. Think slight distressing with an aged or worn feel on everything from organic ceramics to warm woods.
Colorful kitchen cabinetry. Green, blue, even beige are pulling strong in kitchen cabinets. Modern shaped cabinet fronts are key, but any earthtone inspired hue will do!
Plaster walls are making a comeback. If you have seen actual plaster walls in Europe you know the texture and variation of color they showcase is a fun rustic approach to a comfortable feeling home. This technique requires a lot more effort than drywal so don’t do it unless you really love the look!
Wicker and rattan weaving are still holding strong. We have seen in mostly in furniture, so next year be prepared to see it more in detailing and smaller home pieces like photo frames and lighting.
